    Phil tries again to invite Meg out for a meal, but is interrupted when Ann phones Meg and asks if she can stay the night with her. Heather fails to persuade Dennis to appeal aganist his suspension. Marlene and Dot clash over the training of the marathon dancers. Meg hints to Joan that she shouldn't go anywhere near Reb. Diedre tells Judy who really bashed Reb. Ann gets an embroidered hankie as a present from Angel: Joan is unimpressed by Angel's "sweet" act. Angel finds a magnet in a drawer in the laundry and slips it in her pocket. Marlene tells the women that Dennis is leaving. Dennis offers Reb some friendly advice, but she tells him to mind his own business. Phil counsels Angel, but she becomes agitated when he suggests contacting her grandmother (though she seems to have forgotten that she earlier told the woman that her granny is dead). Ann allows Diedre to work in reception, and to take Reb a tray so they can talk. Angel bets Bobbie and Marlene that she can seduce Phil if she wants to. Heather passes on a message to from Cynthia at Blackmoor that the job she wanted done has been carrie dout. Ann tells Meg she's has a silent phone call at the prison, but Officer Slattery wasn't able to tell whether the caller was male or female. Lou and Alice tease Dierde at dinner until Judy rescues her. Dot gives Bobbie the pair of gloves that she wore for her first ball forty years ago. The dance marathon begins : Angel has put the magnet in her breast pocket to affect Judy's pace-maker. Judy feels ill and has to rest. Meg nearly catches Angel putting the magnet back in the laundry. The women are dead on their feet after only the first night of the marathon. At Shane's custody hearing, his father claims he and Shane are getting on fine then when evidence of his violence is presented, he tries to turn the court against Joan by accusing her of bashing prisoners. Joan states that she sees no problem looking after Shane as well as holding down a job. Shane says he would rather live with "Auntie Joan" than with his father. Ann tells Heather that Marie Winter has made a statement implicating Heather for smuggling drugs into Wentworth and helping her escape. Shane is taken away from his father, but is made a ward of the state rather than being given into Joan's custody.
